Member Web Seminar

Presenters will discuss assessment shifts of the Crosscutting Concepts (CCCs) from an implicit to an explicit approach, highlighting the benefits for teaching and learning. Students who use CCCs regularly build confidence in their science practices and develop a stronger sense of science identity. Participants will explore how the CCCs are a lens for student sensemaking, uncover the HOW and WHY we use assessment to drive learning forward, and reflect on their own next steps for assessment and instruction related to the CCCs for student sensemaking.

Note: This is the fourth (and last) web seminar in this series about the Crosscutting Concepts developed by members of the NSTA’s Professional Learning Committee. Please consider watching the recordings of the other three web seminars in the series that took place February 27, April 16, and May 7.

All individuals receive a certificate of participation and 100 NSTA activity points for attending the live seminar and completing the end-of-program survey. A certificate of participation is not awarded for watching the recorded version of the program.

We invite you to register for upcoming web seminars at NSTA.
