NSTA Conference Scholarship

NSTA is offering a limited number of scholarships to cover the conference registration fee for qualified individuals.

Eligibility

Preservice and New Teachers: 

  • Must be a preservice teacher or a new teacher in their first 5 years of teaching at a US-based preK-12 institution.

Experienced Educators and Administrators: 

  • Must have 6 or more years of service as an educator or administrator at a US-based preK-12 institution. 

Additional Requirements: 

Please note: Recipients of this scholarship are responsible for all other expenses, including travel, accommodation, and additional conference fees. 

PreK-12 Educator and Administrator Scholarship

NSTA is providing a limited number of scholarships to cover the conference registration fee. Recipients of this scholarship are responsible for paying travel, accommodation, and other expenses associated with attending the conference. Scholarship funds are limited.

What does the conference registration cover?

The scholarship covers the registration fee for the NSTA National Conference on Science Education in Philadelphia March 26-29, 2025. Hotel and travel are not included as part of the scholarship.

Why was the NSTA Preservice & New Teacher Scholarship created?

The intent of the scholarship is to support educators who could not otherwise attend the NSTA conference due to funding limitations to take advantage of this premier professional development opportunity.

Why was the NSTA preK-12 Educator and Administrator Scholarship created?

This scholarship was established to assist educators and administrators who face funding constraints and would otherwise be unable to attend the NSTA conference, enabling them to benefit from this valuable professional learning experience.

Who can apply?
NSTA Preservice & New Teacher Scholarship

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Preservice teacher, or
  • Be a new teacher who is in their first five (5) years of teaching at a preK through grade 12 institution
  • NSTA member or have a complimentary NSTA account

Priority will be given to applicants who

  • have an NSTA membership
  • are conference presenters (those who have submitted proposals)

If your district has committed to funding your registration, please do not apply.

PreK-12 Educator and Administrator Scholarship

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • PreK-12 educator or administrator currently employed in a preK-12 institution
  • NSTA member or have a complimentary NSTA account

Priority will be given to applicants who are first-time conference attendees

If your district has committed to funding your registration, please do not apply.

How do I apply?

Applications for these scholarships are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

What is the deadline to apply?

Applications will be accepted until the scholarship funds have been exhausted. Applications are awarded on a rolling basis – first come first served until January 31, 2025, when we will close applications.

Can I get a refund if my registration has already been purchased?

No, NSTA will not refund registrations that have been pre-paid. The scholarship is intended for those educators who have minimal financial resources to support the cost of registration.

How will I find out if you have received the scholarship?

Check your inbox and junk mail: If you're selected for the scholarship, you'll receive a crucial email from NSTA. Be sure to check your junk mail folder in case it gets misdirected.

Redeem your one-time code promptly: The email will contain a unique code that you must use within the specified timeframe to activate your scholarship. Don't miss this important step!
