Point of View: Teaching Critical Thinking in an Age of Political Disinformation and Perceived Anti-intellectualism—Helping to Build a Responsible Citizen in a Community-College Setting

Unfortunately, in today’s world of politically motivated disinformation campaigns, our students may arrive at our classrooms already misinformed about science or highly skeptical of its message. It is our job as educators to act as guides on their journey toward defining their own beliefs, to make them aware of the processes of science as invaluable tools for discerning the “truths” of the data that they are exposed to, and to help them critically analyze questions.
