Facilitating Research Between the Library and the Science Writing Classroom: Introducing Students to the Intricacies of Library Research

Journal of College Science Teaching—March/April 1998

The idea that research is a process of continuing exploration and investigation is often a difficult one to instill in college students. Introducing the library and its resources as a part of that process in a scientific writing course has proven to be very successful. To be effective and productive, this undertaking requires close collaboration between the librarian and the teacher, as well as open channels of communications among the librarian, the teacher, and the students.
