Using an Artificial Rock Outcrop to Teach Geology

The lack of rock outcrops is a national problem that impacts how students learn geology all over the United States. To compensate for this problem, try using the suggestions described in this article to construct an artificial rock outcrop that provides students with a fun, inquiry-based learning opportunity right in their own neighborhood. This experience helps students to understand the Earth's processes, concept of scale, and perception of geologic time.
