Integrated Inquiry: Introductory level students benefit from authentic research, technological design, and peer review

The Science Teacher – September 2000

To help teachers meet the need for a challenging inquiry-based science for high school students, particularly basic level integrated science, Cornell University developed a program called Environmental Inquiry (EI). The goals are to teach research and technological design skills to high school students, engage them in original projects, and provide opportunities for them to participate in peer communities of student scientists. This lays the groundwork for student success in science.
