In this month’s column, Steve Metz introduces himself as the new field editor of The Science Teacher (TST). His primary goal for TST is a simple one—to make your journal as useful to you as possible. Since science teachers lead busy lives, he wants the journal to include practical ideas and activities that can be used right away. He pledges to make every effort to provide materials that are easily accessible and reproducible, both directly from the magazine and downloadable from the Internet. Also included is a list of “don’t-miss” articles from the 2003-2004 school year and highlights from this first-ever summer issue.
