Fundamentals of Integrated Science: What teachers should consider when planning an integrated science curriculum

The Biological Sciences Curriculum Study (BSCS) explored integrated science at the high school level through a study funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF). Although successful programs were developed for elementary and middle school levels, the high school presented a different set of challenges. Based on the study, a deeper understanding of the many dimensions of integrated science at the high school level was gained. This article shares the five important lessons learned from the study.
