The Lunar “Space Weather” Action Center (LSWAC) provides an opportunity to use knowledge about the Sun’s stormy “weather” and understandings about the lunar environment to forecast “space weather” on the Moon and current “weather” conditions, as students collect and enter data on a classroom display board. Through the LSWAC, students forecast daily lunar temperature expectations, solar wind activity, cosmic radiation alerts, and intense solar activities such as coronal mass ejections, flares, and prominences. The LSWAC display that students create shares the information they have learned about the Sun and Moon and tracks various “space weather” events.
