Natural Resources: Fireside Science

Science and Children—January 2011

Enthusiasm is contagious. From you to your students, and from scientists to you! Though many of you are enjoying temperate winters and continuing your outdoor adventures, we know many others are spending the coldest months curled up with a good book. With that in mind, we’ve compiled some favorite books on nature to inspire your future explorations with your students. After all, the more you know, the more you can share with the class. You might want to start with Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder by Richard Louv—the book that launched a movement (and this column!)
