Teaching Through Trade Books: The Purpose of Individual Parts and Processes

Science and Children—Summer 2016

This column includes activities inspired by children’s literature. The activities in this month’s issue have students examine the purposes of different plant or animal parts and then adapt these to solve a human problem. Students also consider how plant and animal life cycles are similar and different.
