Teacher preparedness programs like those offered by NASA rely on the vocal cords of the “choir” to spread the word about the motivational benefits of participating in such programs. In addition to gaining creative ideas, curriculum materials, equipment, possible stipends and paid expenses, and a host of new professional colleagues to network with, the experiences of participating in summer programs and workshops propagate opportunities and information in all directions for the science teacher’s career. In this article the author shares her reflections “after singing in the choir” for several years.
