By getting lost in geospatial technology, a group of high school students discovered how to help members of the community find their way around. This was the result of collaboration between the author (a retired science teacher) and the computer teacher to guide students through an annual technology and research project that benefits area institutions and community members. Students learned how to use geospatial technologies such as Geographic Information System (GIS), Global Positioning System (GPS), and remote sensing theory. Students embraced these technologies enthusiastically, and applied their newly acquired skills in various capacities at local state agencies and parks.
